Is Gitfolio free for developers?

Yes. Developers can create portfolios, GitHub profile READMEs and CVs at no cost. Only the recruiter plans are paid.

What data does Gitfolio read?

Only what you authorize through OAuth. On GitHub it asks for the user:email, read:user, repo and read:org scopes, so it can read your profile, your public and private repositories and your organization memberships. On GitLab it asks for read_user and read_api. Google sign-in shares your name and email only. Access tokens are stored encrypted.

What happens with private repositories?

If you sign in with GitHub or GitLab, private repositories you can access may be part of the analysis. A portfolio that includes any private repository cannot be made public, but you can still download it.

Which AI models write the text?

You choose the model when you generate. Available now: Claude (Anthropic), GPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google). You can generate again with a different model and compare the results.

What formats can I get?

There are 7 formats: GitHub README, Job Seeker, General Portfolio, Professional CV/Resume, Freelancer, Tech Lead, Smart Portfolio. You can download each result as Markdown or PDF, or publish it as a public page.

How long does it take?

Usually a few minutes, depending on how many repositories you include. Your dashboard shows the progress while it runs.

Can I delete my portfolio?

Yes. You can delete any portfolio from your dashboard, and switch a public portfolio back to private at any time.

Can I try it without signing in?

Yes. Type a GitHub username in the box at the top of this page for a quick check based on public GitHub data. The full portfolio needs you to sign in.
